Privacy Policy // NoSetups
Effective date: August 28, 2026 · Applies to: nosetups.com and its editor, preview, and account services
NoSetups is a browser-based live editor for HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, built for developers, designers, and learners who need instant previews and multi-page projects without any local setup. This policy explains, in plain terms, what data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using NoSetups, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: what you give us directly, what your browser sends automatically, and what our analytics and advertising partners generate as you interact with the site.
a. Information you provide
- Account registration: email address, username, and password (stored in hashed form) when you create a NoSetups account.
- Comments & community activity: any text, code snippets, or replies you post, along with your display name and the timestamp of the post.
- Newsletter subscription: your email address, if you choose to subscribe to product updates or tips.
- Support requests: anything you include in an email or contact form, such as your message content and attached files.
b. Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Pages visited, time spent on the editor, referring URLs, and general usage patterns.
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (city/country level only).
- Code and project data saved within the editor, associated with your account or session for the purpose of providing the live-preview feature.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the live editor, previews, and multi-page project features.
- To create and manage your account, and to authenticate you when you log in.
- To display comments and community contributions where applicable.
- To send newsletters or product updates you've opted into, and transactional emails (password resets, security notices).
- To analyze site traffic and usage trends so we can fix bugs and prioritize new features.
- To serve relevant advertising through our ad partners, and to measure the performance of that advertising.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, abuse, or violations of our terms.
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
NoSetups uses cookies, local storage, and similar tracking technologies to keep the editor working smoothly and to understand how the site is used. Cookies are small text files placed on your device that let us recognize your browser across visits.
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keep you logged in, save editor preferences, secure sessions | Session – 1 year |
| Analytics | Measure traffic, feature usage, and site performance (Google Analytics) | Up to 2 years |
| Advertising | Personalize and measure ads served via Google AdSense and partners | Up to 2 years |
| Functional | Remember editor theme, layout, and language settings | Up to 1 year |
4. Third-Party Services & Advertising
We work with third-party providers to run analytics and display advertising on NoSetups. These providers may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use NoSetups — which pages are viewed, how long sessions last, and which features are popular. Google Analytics collects data such as your IP address (which may be truncated or anonymized), device and browser information, and on-site behavior. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Google AdSense & Advertising Partners
NoSetups displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and its network of advertising partners. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. This is known as interest-based or personalized advertising.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to NoSetups and/or other sites.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do share limited information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: hosting, email delivery, analytics (Google Analytics), and advertising (Google AdSense) partners who process data on our behalf.
- Legal compliance: when required to comply with a legal obligation, court order, or governmental request.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality arrangements.
- With your consent: any other sharing will only happen with your explicit permission.

8. Data Security & Retention
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and hashed password storage — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after account closure, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
9. Children's Privacy
NoSetups is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
NoSetups may be accessed globally, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our servers and service providers are located. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect data transferred internationally.
